Priorities
for Ward 2
Building on progress. Focused on the future.
My priorities are simple: a stronger local economy, safer neighbourhoods, better infrastructure, and a higher quality of life for all residents of Ward 2.
Economic Development
I want to make sure we attract and retain jobs and new businesses.
Resident Engagement
Continue to engage residents in an open and transparent manner to get input on Town projects, activities, economic development and the annual Budget.
Smart Growth
Good appropriate development.
Affordable Housing
Put a focus on affordable housing, including mental health and addiction.
Climate Change Initiatives
Let's continue to be leaders with bringing forward more climate change initiatives — this means things like food security, access to water for our farmers, and protecting and growing our agricultural sector.
Fire & Emergency Services
Continued key investments to strengthen our firefighting and fire prevention services.
Active Transportation
Continue to make active transportation investments — walkability, cycling and public gathering spaces.
Government Funding Advocacy
Continue to work with the provincial and federal government to advocate for funding opportunities — attracted over $57 million last term.
Infrastructure Renewal
Continue to invest in roads and other infrastructure in a timely and cost-effective manner.
Town Facilities
Continue to upgrade the Town's facilities to meet the needs of our growing community.
Ward 2 Representation
Advocate and ensure proactive, effective, efficient common-sense solutions to help resolve the concerns of the residents of Ward 2.
